I bought these a year and a half ago and use them constantly. Being a college student, I’m on the computer often, and always use these. The quality of these headphones is outstanding for the price. Comfort is great; the extra long cord is a definite bonus; sound is great too. Sometimes when listening to a movie in these headphones, I’ll be tricked and think a sound is external, because the sound placement and accuracy is that good

I have no complaints, and if you’re using a cheap pair of headphones right now, I’d definitely recommend upgrading. Obviously they’re not for active/mobile use, but these are great for listening to music and not bothering the roommates.

Bass is great; like I said, no complaints

    Comfortable headphones, May 26, 2006

    Pros:
These headphones are easy to wear and similar in design to the MDR-XD300. They are very comfortable and lightweight (relatively). They are nice and loud so you don’t have to crank up your volume. I have noticed details in songs that I suspected were better than my speakers could reproduce.

    Cons:
These headphones are a bit cheap on the low end. Sure the specs say they are great, but the tuning is such that even though you can tell there is bass there, it just does not hit very hard. The only I get any “boom” out of these is when I play specific low frequency music (techno/electronica/etc…).

While I don’t like particularly boomy headphones these suffer from what seems to be an imbalance in excellent mid-high reproduction (even a little peaky at times) with mediocre to dissapointing low end intenity.

Well, you’re obviously not going to get a professional quality set of headphones for under $20, but these are certainly decent headphones. They were meant to replace an old pair of Sony’s that the headband broke on finally after about 5 years. I just got the XD100′s today, and I am more than impressed! I am listening to some bass tests right now (Techmaster P.E.B.), and you can hear pretty low notes on them! The bass is incredible for a sub-$20 pair of headphones!

I primarily will be using these for casual music listening, and for gaming on my gaming system and at LAN parties. They fit my head really well, too, and are easy adjustable. The only question I have on the headband is how long it’s going to last. The adjustable parts are all made of seemingly cheap plastic, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it snaps from not all that much abuse. Of course, I try to treat my stuff with care, but for someone who knows that they’re going to throw them around a lot might want to look at a different pair.

    Pros:
    ** Good sound quality
** Comfortable fit (even after a couple hours)
    ** Not too heavy
** Long cord (could be good or bad)
    ** Includes 1/8″ –> 1/4″ adapter

    Cons:
    ** [Seemingly] Cheap plastic
** Headband is not solid (but I personally like that) or padded
